$140,000 Invested in Our Community

For 95 years, the Farmington Community Chest has helped strengthen the community we call home. This past year, that support reached residents of all ages, from children heading to summer camp to seniors, veterans, students, and families who needed a helping hand.

Thanks to the generosity of local individuals, businesses, community partners and supporters of our annual fundraising events, FCC raised more than $140,000 to support programs focused on basic human needs, education and community life throughout Farmington and Unionville during the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

Local Dollars, Local Impact

Over the past year, FCC funding helped:

• Provide summer camp scholarships and direct assistance to local families.
• Award $10,000 to the Farmington Food Pantry, which served approximately 270 families last year.
• Support local seniors through HOPE Partners of Farmington and the Tunxis Senior Citizens Association, including meals, outreach, programming and community activities.
• Fund art therapy and adaptive yoga at New Horizons Village.
• Provide $7,200 to Tunxis Veterans OASIS to support student-veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
• Give Farmington High School students hands-on laboratory research experience through the Cutting Edge Research Internship Program at UConn Health.
• Bring arts education to more than 1,950 students at East Farms and West Woods schools through Arts for Learning Connecticut.
• Help launch a new inclusive and adaptive recreation program through the Town of Farmington.
• Contribute $20,000 to the Farmington Land Trust toward rebuilding Polly’s Pier and making it accessible to more members of our community.

These grants represent more than dollars. They mean meals on the table, opportunities for kids, connection for seniors, support for veterans, accessible recreation and programs that make Farmington and Unionville stronger places to live.

Looking Ahead

As the Farmington Community Chest moves into 2027, our mission remains much the same as it was when we began in 1931: neighbors helping neighbors and local resources supporting local needs.

This October, residents will receive our annual donation postcard. Every contribution helps us continue funding the organizations, programs and initiatives making a direct difference right here in our community.
